Note from the Fiction Editors:

We want stories that strike us. Take us on a journey to an unexpected destination or revisit a familiar place with new eyes. There are as many approaches to storytelling as there are people on Earth, so sweep us off our feet with traditional narratives, or send us pieces that push the boundaries of what a story can be. We want it all.

  • Submit one short story between five and fifteen pages or up to three flash fiction pieces no longer than three pages each.

  • For submissions with more than one flash piece, please begin each story on a new page.

  • Please use .doc or .docx format for text-based submissions that do not need special formatting. PDF files are acceptable for submissions that require special formatting.

Note from the Poetry Editors:

We’re looking for poems that leave lasting emotional echoes in our hearts, as well as fun poems full of vivid imagery. We are interested in work that emanates or questions your very essence. This is an opportunity to raise your voice, express yourself in ways you never have before. We want to include you and any community you represent.

  • Submit up to five poems in a single file.

  • Maximum of three pages per poem.

  • Please begin each poem on a new page.

  • Please use .doc or .docx format for text-based submissions that do not need special formatting. PDF files are acceptable for submissions that require special formatting.

Note from the Art Editors:

In Equatorial we want to include all forms of self expression possible. We want you to show us your creative side with a splash of paint or the flash of a camera. Don't be shy to give us an insight through your eye, how you see the world. Feel free to submit 2D and 3D art —photography, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and mixed media.

  • Submit up to five images.

  • Please include a brief explanation of the intrigue, meaning, message, or story behind each piece (150-250 words per piece). Submit this document in .doc or .docx format.

  • Please use .jpg or .png format for images.

  • Please give your images and explanations corresponding titles.

  • Please include your name and the title of the piece in the name of the file.
